The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has requested larger than usual screens for testing on it’s two most popular products. No specifics on what kinds of screens have been shipped, but news has it that the prototype iPad screens are slightly smaller than 13 inches.
iPhone users could probably rejoice at the news that there will be a larger version of their favourite phone. If the size bump arrives on the next generation, it will be the fastest that Apple has ever responded to consumers’ demands; at least where their smartphones are concerned.
A larger iPad comes as a great surprise since most tablet makers are now aiming at the smaller 8 inch market. Although Apple does have the Mini already available. I personally suspect that something bigger may end up being a convertible to compete with the new generation of convertible Ultrabooks; or convertible Tablets; whichever floats your boat.
