At the ASUS We Transform media event earlier, the company managed to not only draw the crowd’s attention to the new Nexus 7 tablet that was seen with one of the country product managers, but also discreetly tease its new product line called the ASUSPRO. Featuring business-oriented design and features, we may be looking at a new challenger to Lenovo’s legendary ThinkPad line.

The new ASUSPRO lineup currently consists of only two devices: the ASUSPRO B Advanced Ultrabook and the ASUSPRO P Essential laptop. With prices ranging from RM1999 to RM4199, the company seems confident that the two devices will meet the needs of business owners as well as commercial users alike.
The ASUSPRO BU400 Advanced Ultrabook features a robust carbon fibre chassis that passes the MIL-STD 810G military standard, and weighs 1.64kg and is only 20mm thick. On top of going through rigorous testing, the ASUSPRO B Advanced also sports a spill-resistant keyboard as well as an anti-shock hard drive.
On the other hand, the ASUSPRO P Essential, as the name suggests, is a full-featured laptop with a chassis that meets higher industry standards than consumer notebooks, and like the BU400 Advanced, sports anti-shock hard drives and spill-resistant keyboards. Also, the ASUSPRO P Essential also features anti-glare screens and larger multi-gesture touchpads.
