Who says you have to wait to see what Asus has to announce for the launch of the successor to its PadFone? In the World Wide Web, there’s no such thing as waiting because check out the Asus PadFone 2 introduced by none other than the CEO if Asus himself, Mr. Jerry Shen. The introduction was made in a video by Bloomberg TV India whereby the host was showing off a range of Windows 8 products from Asus.
So, what’s new in the device that makes Asus launch it only a couple of months after the original PadFone launch? A new design that sports a much larger 4.7″ HD display (the original PadFone had a 4.3″ display), and a new dock that is slimmer because it eliminates the use of a back cover to hide the phone when docked; it’s lighter too, obviously. Specs wise, all that is revealed is that it will come with a 13MP rear camera (the original Padfone is packed with an 8MP camera). Rumor has it, PadFone 2 will be powered by a quad-core S4 Pro chipset with 2GB of RAM and of course, we’re hoping for Jelly Bean OS as well.Check out the video below, you can also catch a glimpse of the dual-display Asus Taichi in action but if you don’t care about anything besides the PadFone 2 right now, fast forward to the 1:40 point. Check out some product shots courtesy of evleaks right after the break.
