The 13Inch Retina Display Macbook Pro: More Pixels, Smaller Frame

When it was announced, the 15 Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro took the world by storm. By took the world by storm I mean of course get the whole creative community completely flabbergasted and the rest of the world wondering why anyone would pay that much for a notebook, even with all those pretty pixels. That is by no means a bad thing, the Retina display MacBook Pro being one of my most lusted over items, even with it’s crazy price. The big question was of course, where is the little brother to this flagship laptop on steroids? Well today, the curtains were lifted and the little brother has arrived.

Nipping at the heels of its older brother, the 13Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro retains the styling of the Retina MBP family, coming in at a cool 1.9cm thick. The 13Inch Retina MBP starts with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 processor,8GB of RAM as well as 128GB SSD Storage (Upgradable to 768GB) and Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated graphics. Of course the star of the show has to be the 13.3inch IPS display 2560 x 1600 Retina Display. Called the second highest resolution display on a laptop, it certainly is nothing to take lightly. The 13Inch Retina MBP even has a higher resolution than some of the existing 7th Generation iMacs!

Weighing in at RM5,299 for the base model and RM6,199 for the top of the line, the 13inch Retina MBP is not in any way cheap in comparisons with any other 13inch laptop. The fact that it’s only integrated graphics doesn’t help matters much either. I pose the idea that the Retina display laptops are in a class of their own and can’t be compared to the likes of the ultra books and laptops of its competitors, that’s for the MacBook Pro’s to do. That being said, I still won’t pay that much for a device with only integrated graphics!

That being said, the 13inch Retina MacBook Pro is ideal for many people who need the power it DOES offer and need the portability as well. The laptops are available NOW from the Apple Online Store.
