Meet the Oppo Find 5, the Most Powerful Android Smartphone Yet

Move aside, HTC J Butterfly. Step down, Samsung Galaxy Note II. The benchmark-obliterating throne is no longer yours. Just a few days back we mentioned the HTC J Butterfly, the Japan-exclusive smartphone that was the most powerfully-specced Android smartphone ever. And sure enough, a check on the AnTuTu benchmark ranking shows it marginally beat the equally large Samsung Galaxy Note II.

But what’s this? Chinese brand Oppo, who were once known as the makers of the slimmest smartphone in the world, are going to release its latest smartphone, and it looks to be a real powerhouse. It boasts specs that “meet or exceed” that of the HTC J Butterfly, such as a larger 12MP camera, and a larger 2500mAh battery. Other than that, the Find 5 uses the same Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM that can be found in the J Butterfly. It also sports a 5-inch full HD screen.  Oh, and at only 6.9mm thick, it makes the 9.1mm J Butterfly look absolutely flat.

The rumour mills are saying the photo above could have been altered, which would imply that the specs may also be not true, but then again, with an expected retail price of around $480 this could and should be on everybody’s wish list for the holidays.

Too bad for us here though, because like the Japan-only J Butterfly, the Oppo Find 5 will only be available in China, with no plans for overseas availability.
