Just when we thought Gangnam Style’s world domination has seems to be over, here comes yet another fresh viral from the realm of Internet: the Harlem Shake. For those that are still not aware of this rather new obsession, it is much easier for us to show you a video rather than trying to explain it:

Spreading all over YouTube like a wildfire, more than 12,000 Harlem Shake videos have been posted on video depository site since the start of the month and have gathered more than 44 million views. While we don’t expect this viral to be performed at any national open house soon (heh) due to its often outrageous nature, the real Harlem Shake dance – which has been around since 1981 – is actually much more harmless.
You’ll see what we mean through this Harlem Shake instructional video, right after the jump.

It is good to note that they are indeed different from each other but on another hand, most of the viral Harlem Shake videos are just too hilarious. YouTube Trends has published a brief but excellent analysis on Harlem Shake, so check it out for more details and stats on the meme.
