Express Rail Link (ERL), the operator for KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit, has announced that it will increase fare prices starting 1 January 2027. The fare hike marks the first time that both transportation services have seen an increase in 10 years.
The KLIA Ekspres service, in particular, will see fares increase by an average of 20%, for both adults and children aged 6 to 15. The new pricing is as follows:

Basically, one-way tickets to KLIA1 and KLIA2 will increase from RM55 to RM65 for adults, while a child’s fare increases from RM25 to RM29. For return tickets, the fare for adults will go up from RM100 to RM118, while a child’s ticket increases from RM45 to RM53.
Once again, this increase in fare price marks the first time in a decade that the transportation has done so since 2016. Between 2002 and 2015, the cost of one-way travel on KLIA Ekspres was RM35.
The price hike is, perhaps, inevitable, and one could argue that the move was a long overdue one. Datin Noormah Mohd Noor, CEO of ERL, said that the adjustment reflects the realities of running a high-quality rail service and is needed in order to maintain standards over the long-term.
ERL also stated that it is working with partners to explore exclusive ticket discounts of up to 30% starting next year, and will make further announcements once plans are finalised.
