Garena previously announced pre-registrations for Monster Hunter Outlanders, as it will be the publisher for the game in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Now, the game has a concrete release date of 29 October. The company has also opened pre-registrations on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, whereas previously you had to do it via the dedicated page. You can still use that to pre-register if you haven’t already, but you’ll still be choosing one of the two mobile platforms ultimately.
As part of the announcement, Garena has also revealed that Monster Hunter Outlanders will feature two control modes – Classic and Adventure. The former should simply be the same controls as the mainline entries, while the latter is described as the mode that “helps newcomers get up to speed quickly”. No further details have been shared beyond that. Beyond the publisher, executives from both Capcom and TiMi Studio Group have shared new details about the game as well, though there may potentially be some contradictory information coming from both.
From the former is Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer for the Monster Hunter series. He reiterates that Monster Hunter Outlanders is developed by TiMi Studio Group, with Capcom’s supervision. Crucially, he then says “I’ve heard that new monsters and weapon types will be added in future updates”. Then there’s Huang Dong from the latter company, who is also the producer for the game. He says that “a new weapon type, the Charge Blade”, will make its debut.
One could take this to mean that Tsujimoto was referring to weapon types that will be new to Outlanders, rather than the Monster Hunter series. But then we look at the game’s TGS 2026 trailer, which shows off a new adventurer (read: gacha pull character) Haze, with a distinctly Rathalos-inspired armour and a matching Greatsword, but with an animation that is very reminiscent of the Charge Blade. Today’s announcement also mentions Ruger Aidal, a Monster Hunter Outlanders-original Elder Dragon. From the TGS trailer, it has a pretty familiar moveset – one that’s pretty similar to Malzeno from Sunbreak, despite being visually very distinct.
At any rate, you can now pre-register for Monster Hunter Outlanders on both Android and iOS, letting your devices download the game as it becomes available. On that note, remember the SR Adventurer Raya that’s being advertised as a pre-registration reward, but only if specific milestones are met? From the pre-registration web page, it looks like the community is one milestone away from being able to get the reward.
