CIMB has issued a notice on its official website informing customers that some of its services will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled system maintenance. To be more specific, the bank’s debit card services will be inaccessible while the maintenance work is ongoing.
According to the notice, there will be three separate instances, starting next weekend. The first of these will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, from 12 AM until 6 AM. Then, the next maintenance period is slated for the following Tuesday, 22 September 2026. On this day, the system maintenance will be carried out from 12 AM until 7:30 AM. And lastly, customers can expect service disruptions on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, from 12 AM until 5 AM.

As detailed in the announcement, the affected services include both online and in-store debit card purchases via MyDebit, Visa, and Mastercard. So, any purchases or transactions during these periods will not be possible. Although two out of the three maintenance sessions are scheduled on weekdays, they will be taking place from midnight until the early hours of the morning. Therefore, these disruptions are unlikely to affect the majority of CIMB customers as most establishments should be closed at these hours.
That said, those who conduct their business during the late hours should take note of these disruptions nonetheless. The bank also advises customers to plan their payments ahead of time to avoid facing issues. Since the first downtime is set for about a week from now, users should have enough time to prepare. In any case, services should resume once the maintenance has been completed. That is, assuming everything proceeds smoothly.
Of course, long-time users should know the drill by now, since this is not the first instance of service disruption. The bank conducts maintenance work on a regular basis, with a similar activity taking place back in April.
