If you’ve been keeping up with DJI in any capacity, then you should be aware that the company is not very good at keeping secrets. Take for example, the Osmo Action 6, the brand’s own action camera that has been the subject of multiple leaks in recent memory. Perhaps in light of that, DJI decided to pull a fast one and released the camera early in China.
As a refresher, the Osmo Action 6 features a brand new 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor, which boasts a 13.5 EV dynamic range. It also has a 155° field of view and an f/2.0~f/4.0 variable aperture. The camera records up to 4K at 60fps (at a 1:1 aspect ratio) or 4K at 120fps (at a 16:9 aspect ratio). Though it can only create 38MP photos.
Though the Osmo Action 6 is an upgraded model, it still uses the same 1,950 mAh (7.5 Wh) battery as its predecessor, with an identical 240-minute rating. It also has the same 1.46-inch front and 2.5-inch rear OLED displays with a peak brightness of 800 nits.
The Osmo Action 6 starts at CNY2,998 (~RM1,746), which features the camera, a 1,950mAh battery, and other basic accessories. DJI is also offering a variety of combo packages that add specific accessories for particular use cases like mountain biking and snorkelling.

DJI has yet to confirm global pricing, and we’ll likely learn more when it officially launches on 18 November. The Malaysian release remains unaffected and will proceed as scheduled.
