Canon has another camera that it is adding to its catalogue. Details about the item is still scarce, but at the very least the company has revealed when it will be launching the new camera. And it is happening as soon as next week.
PetaPixel reports that Canon USA previously scheduled a video to premiere on YouTube at November 6. Translated to the local time zone, it would have aired at around 1PM. Unfortunately, it looks like the company has since removed the video.

That being said, the report notes the previously scheduled video asking viewers to “elevate your image”. This is accompanied by an image with a camera’s silhouette on a tripod. Not much else is visible beyond the LCD screen at the back of said camera.
According to the report, these elements point to Canon unveiling a camera that’s focused on taking snaps rather than recording video. It claims that the lack of a built-in battery grip points to it being a new entry in one of the R series, including the R5, R6, R7 and R8. Unsurprisingly, the claim does not completely discount the possibility of something entirely new. Either way, we’ll have to wait until then to find out.
