MG Motor Malaysia has announced revised pricing for all three variants of the MGS5 EV, effective immediately. The COM variant is now priced at RM107,900, the COM Long Range at RM117,900, and the LUX Long Range at RM127,900. This revised pricing reflects a price reduction of RM8,000 across all variants.

According to the automaker, the price adjustment is part of its ongoing effort to make electric vehicles more accessible to Malaysian consumers. The reduction follows MG’s move to begin local assembly (CKD) operations for the Malaysian market.

To recap the EV’s launch in May this year, both the COM and LUX variants of the MGS5 EV feature LED headlamps with distinctive ‘Racing Flag’ daytime running lights (DRLs) and MG’s signature Arch Taillights. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen with voice command, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG’s iSMART connectivity system.

Performance-wise, the MGS5 EV delivers 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque via a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration across all variants. The COM variant offers a choice between 49 kWh and 62 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, providing a WLTP-rated range of 340 km and 430 km, respectively. Meanwhile, the LUX variant comes equipped with the 62 kWh battery as standard.

In terms of charging, all variants support up to 7 kW AC and 120 kW DC fast charging, while the LUX model is capable of accepting up to 150 kW DC. This enables a 10–80% state-of-charge top-up in just 26 minutes under optimal conditions.

All variants are also offered with the Ultimate Ownership Package, providing savings of up to RM10,000. This includes a complimentary 7kW AC wallbox charger or the option to choose charging credits. For added flexibility, customers may also opt for the MG Ultimate Financing Package, which offers personalised financing solutions through authorised MG dealers nationwide.
