Maxis has announced a strategic partnership with India’s Globe Teleservices (GTS) to roll out an integrated AI-powered firewall across its network in Malaysia. The new system aims to improve security, reliability and quality for millions of users under the telco, while safeguarding international messaging channels entering the country.
The collaboration will see Maxis and GTS jointly define and enforce firewall policies covering all international voice and messaging traffic terminating on the former’s network. The system, powered by the latter’s AI- and machine learning-based “Armour” firewall, will provide around-the-clock monitoring and rapid fraud detection using data from aggregated global traffic.

The AI engine is designed to automatically block spam, grey-route messaging, and fraudulent activities such as SIM farms. By doing so, the system helps ensure legitimate messages and calls reach users quickly and securely without disruption.

According to Maxis, the initiative strengthens its network defences and aligns with its ongoing efforts to deliver a safer, higher-quality experience for customers and business clients. GTS’s technology also supports Maxis’s commitment to maintaining service integrity across international communication channels.
