Luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer has returned with a new offering, the Connected Calibre E5. This latest generation of smartwatches feature 40mm and 45mm models, as well as a version made in collaboration with sportswear company New Balance. The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 40mm x New Balance Edition sports a purple and green colour palette and a flexible strap.
This model features a titanium case and a 1.2-inch 390 x 390 OLED display protected with sapphire crystal. Beyond that, it features dual-band GPS and the usual fare of sensors you would expect in a smartwatch. Naturally, there are health features like sleep tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, and heart rate variability. Additionally, it packs six New Balance running plans.

For internals, the watch is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5100+ chipset. Powering the device is a 300mAh battery, which the watchmaker claims will last you 1.5 days with full performance. In Low Power mode, the battery life gets stretched to two days. Aside from that, the watch can reportedly charge from dead to full in 90 minutes.
One notable feature of this watch and its siblings is the operating system. Unlike its predecessor, the wearables do not come with Wear OS. Instead, they run on a brand new OS “developed entirely in-house”. That said, this bespoke software is still based on Android.

The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 40mm x New Balance Edition comes with a RM8,500 price tag. If the number doesn’t make you flinch, you can head over to the brand’s official website to learn more. The site also includes the other models, which feature different case and strap options. Pricing for these versions starts at RM6,550. The priciest of them all is a RM10,000 model themed around golf, complete with a strap mimicking a golf ball.
