The Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) system remains a subject of interest in the country. Recently, Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd (TnG) announced its collaboration with STAR Systems International (SSI) to demonstrate a MLFF proof of concept toll system. This project showcases the combination of global tolling technology and TnG’s digital payments ecosystem.
A key element of this project is the Titan Flow technology developed and customised by TnG. This is supported by the company’s eWallet with electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) verification. Additionally, the system leverages the SOS Balance feature, which lets users with insufficient balance pass through tolls seamlessly. These users are then allowed a 24-hour grace period to reload their eWallets.

Meanwhile, SSI contributed its Titan Pro reader and Avior antenna. These are paired with SIDRA’s PARSEC lane controller and advanced sensors like Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and 3D LiDAR. In combination, the technologies operated reliably and accurately under live traffic conditions, indicating the readiness of MLFF in the country.
According to SSI Chief Technology Officer Stephen Lockhart, the Titan Pro and Avior were “purpose-built for high-speed, multi-lane tolling environments”. He went on to say that the collaboration with TnG highlights a successful implementation of MLFF in Malaysia.

In a statement, TnG noted that the initiative aligns with Malaysia’s broader digital mobility agenda. TnG Chief Executive Officer Praba Sangarajoo pointed out the company’s role as a trusted partner to Malaysia’s highways for nearly 30 years. He also stated that with nationwide RFID adoption and an MLFF-ready system, TnG is prepared to deliver tolling that is seamless, reliable and future-ready.
RFID adoption continues to grow in Malaysia, reflecting road users’ preference for a seamless tolling experience. As the country looks to implement MLFF, the technology serves as the foundation for faster, barrier-free travel.
