Following the official local launch of the Huawei Watch GT 6 lineup, the wearables are now available for purchase nationwide. With a starting price of RM999, the smartwatches promise hardware and software upgrades compared to their predecessors.
As a refresher, the Watch GT 6 series comprises a base model in 41mm and 46mm sizes, as well as a Pro variant in 46mm. The 41mm Watch GT 6 sports a 1.32-inch 466 x 466 AMOLED display. Both the 46mm version and the Pro model come with the same screen, but measuring 1.47 inches instead. The wearables all feature an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
According to Huawei, the watches are equipped with a more accurate GPS. Additionally, they feature over 100 sports modes including enhanced running and cycling modes. A highlight is the new cycling virtual power feature, which the brand claims is an industry-first. Naturally, the Pro model comes with some extra perks, namely a golf course mode with over 17,000 maps, and modes for trail running and freediving.
As for battery life, both the 46mm Watch GT 6 and the Pro variant offer 13 days of typical use, or a maximum of 21 days with light usage. Meanwhile, the 41mm model offers eight days of regular use. This version can last up to 14 days with light usage.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 lineup is currently available for purchase on the brand’s official website, as well as its stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Depending on the chosen colour, the base model costs either RM999 or RM1,099. Meanwhile, the Pro variant retails for either RM1,299 or RM1,999. Again, this is based on the colour. Those purchasing any of the smartwatches can get free gifts worth up to RM446. This includes the FreeBuds 6i and three months of Huawei Health+.
Aside from the Watch GT 6 series, the blue Watch D2 is also available for purchase through the same channels. Priced at RM1,699, the new colour variant offers the same health-tracking features like blood pressure monitoring and ECG analysis. Those buying the watch are entitled to free gifts worth RM228, including a Scale 3 and two years of Huawei Care+.
