vivo previously announced that it is bringing its OriginOS to the global market, with a launch on 15 October. This was previously exclusive to phones it sells in its own home market. Ahead of its global availability, the brand is allowing owners of the X200 Pro to preview the mobile operating system. But the company is opening only 500 spots available for the preview.
To get in, you need to first make sure your vivo X200 Pro is updated to system version 15.0.14.1 or newer. Once that’s done, go to Settings > System Update > Settings (top right) > Trial version > Closed beta sign-up. If you’re among the lucky 500, you can then go to Settings >System Upgrade to preview OriginOS 6.
Probably worth noting though that the support page of the OriginOS6 Preview Program also labels this as a closed beta. But once the release version is available, you’ll still be able to update your phone normally. With that in mind though, be prepared to encounter some bugs along the way. Steps to provide feedback or report bugs are also not exactly clear, but you can give the short FAQ a read by hitting this link.
As mentioned, vivo previously kept OriginOS exclusive to its home market. We did get the opportunity to catch a quick glimpse of it back when the X100 series was first launched. Probably the most interesting feature ot the time was the pretty impressive BlueLM large language model. It was locked to Mandarin back then, but it remains to be seen broader language support has since been added.
