The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has begun issuing Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD) notifications directly to individual taxpayers via email. While just officially announced, the board noted that the rollout had already commenced since 17 September 2025.
In its statement, LHDN added that notifications for the month of August had already been sent to the email addresses registered by taxpayers through the MyTax portal. The move is aimed at providing greater transparency and assurance that deductions made by employers are properly remitted and credited into each taxpayer’s account.
According to the board, the initiative also supports its broader efforts to improve digital service delivery and establish the MyTax portal as the primary communication channel with taxpayers. Individuals are reminded to ensure their email details on the website are valid and up to date to avoid disruptions in receiving the monthly updates.

For further information, taxpayers can check MTD payment details through the dedicated MTD link on the portal, while full account records remain accessible via the “Ledger” feature. Alternatively, you can also access this information via the official MyTax mobile application that’s available on both iOS and Android.
