It’s been awhile since premium audio brand Bowers & Wilkins released its Px8 headphones. The time seemed ripe for the brand to give it a refresh, and so we now have the Px8 S2. It seems to have also inherited the eye-watering price tag, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
As an a refreshed model, you’d be right to expect minor, but meaningful updates to the pair of premium headphones. With that in mind, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 now comes with Bluetooth 5.3, support for aptX Adaptive and Lossless for 24-bit / 96 kHz playback. Naturally, USB-C and 3.5mm wired options remain.
Bowers & Wilkins also says that the Px8 S2 now gets eight microphones instead of six. The drivers are still 40mm Carbon Cone, but the chassis has been upgraded, and the entire thing was given a slight redesign for a lower profile, slimmer form and improved fit.
For those looking for a premium pair of headphones, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 is now available in Malaysia for RM3,299. As mentioned, this is the same price as the predecessor model, which didn’t get a price reduction from the look of things. Worth noting at this point that it will also be getting over-the-air updates that bring spatial audio, followed by Bluetooth LE and Auracast later.
