Checks for qualification under the Budi Madani RON95 subsidy programme (BUDI95) will be available starting tomorrow on 25 September 2025, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan announced. Malaysians can verify their eligibility online at www.budimadani.gov.my, through customer service centres, or via the Setel and CaltexGO apps after completing identity verification.
According to the minister, users only need to key in their identification card number on the official portal to confirm their status and view their quota. The system will serve as a permanent platform, displaying daily subsidy usage and remaining entitlement from 30 September onwards. Each eligible user will be entitled to 300 litres per month.

He explained that the process at petrol stations remains straightforward. Consumers simply insert their MyKad into the reader at the pump or payment counter, after which they can pay by cash, debit or credit card, e-wallet, or participating apps. Receipts will show the pump price, the amount subsidised by the government, and the final amount paid at the subsidised rate of RM1.99 per litre.
The minister confirmed that nearly all petrol stations nationwide are already equipped with readers to support the scheme. Several fuel companies have also integrated Budi95 checks into their digital platforms, with Setel and Touch ’n Go offering app-based verification and payment options.

With this mechanism, subsidy tracking is automatic and tied to the MyKad number, eliminating the need for manual registration. Any usage beyond the 300-litre quota will be charged at the prevailing market price of RON95.
