Bose has announced the follow-up to its noise-cancelling headphones, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones. The sequel reuses the name and simply tacks on (2nd Gen) at the end. While the over-ears did not receive any notable updates in terms of exterior design, they did receive various internal ones, namely audio over USB-C.
Another one of the key upgrades can be found in the company’s proprietary CustomTune technology. The feature is now more effective at automatically calibrating audio performance and noise cancellation to better cater to the unique shape of each ear.

According to the audio company, these headphones feature Bose’ best noise cancelling that is capable of reducing any unwanted sounds in any environment. However, users can still listen to their surrounding environment with the headphones’ improved Aware Mode, allowing for more “natural-sounding ambient audio”.
The QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) also introduce a new Cinema Mode that is said to deliver a wider sound stage and clear dialogue reproduction. In addition to this, it also features an improved battery life of up to 40 hours with ANC off, 30 hours with ANC on, and 23 hours with Immersive Audio on.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) are priced at US$449 (~RM1,894) and come in Black, White, Midnight Violet, and Driftwood Sand colourways. Additionally, each purchase of the headphones comes with an included carrying case, a 3.5mm to 2.5mm audio cable, and a 20-inch long USB-C to USB-C cable. According to GSMArena, the delivery of the over-ear is slated for early October. As of this writing, no local pricing or availability has been mentioned.
