ShopeePay has announced that it has partnered with Allianz General to introduce two new Personal Accident insurance plans. These plans are designed with affordability in mind, with the aim of making protection more accessible for Malaysians, particularly B40 communities. Both of the plans are available through the ShopeePay and Shopee apps.
While these insurance plans are priced at RM50 and RM75 respectively, they are eligible for the government’s Perlindungan Tenang Voucher Programme, which provides a RM30 subsidy to Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah recipients. This means that for eligible customers, the price of the plans starts at RM20 excluding SST. The respective costs and benefits of the plans are detailed below.
Customers can claim and use their Perlindungan Tenang Voucher by tapping “Tenang” on the Insurance Homepage on the ShopeePay or Shopee app. From there, they need to confirm that they are eligible for the voucher and fill in the necessary personal information.
After that, they must review the coverage details and complete the purchase. An email will be sent to those who have successfully applied. Additionally, ShopeePay will provide a RM10 Shopee voucher with no minimum spend to these successful applicants.
