Huawei has teased an upcoming pair of TWS buds that it is launching – the FreeBuds SE 4 ANC. This is, naturally, the successor of the FreeBuds SE 3 from late last year. And while it’s still only listed as “coming soon”, the company has revealed its price ahead of time. It would fall under the affordable category, though with a few exceptions it seems pretty feature complete.
On that note, let’s start there. The Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 ANC only supports AAC, SBC and mSBC codecs, so hi-res audio is out of the question. Despite this, it does run Bluetooth 5.4 . The buds themselves also get an IP54 rating, but not the case.

Speaking of the case, Huawei claims that you can get a total of 50 hours of music time with the FreeBuds SE 4 ANC. This is thanks to the 510mAh battery in the case, as well as a 41 mAh battery in the individual buds. All this is with the assumption that ANC is off though, as the figure drops to 35 hours with them on.
As the name suggests, the Huawe Freebuds SE 4 ANC comes with active noise cancellation. You get three presets to choose from – Ultra, General and Cozy modes – depending on the surrounding sound levels.

As mentioned, Huawei has revealed the price of the FreeBuds SE 4 ANC, which is RM249. And despite it only “coming soon”, the company is offering an RM150 early bird voucher if you make your purchase by 7 September. Which may be an indication as to when it is launching, lining up with the gap between its predecessor’s initial “coming soon” announcement with its eventual release. In the meantime, you can head over to its official product page, linked here, to find out more.
