The Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) today launched cashless payment options for its services at counters nationwide. The cashless payment methods include Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay, MAE, and Boost applications.
The launch was held at JPJ Galeria and was officiated by the Director General of Road Transport Malaysia Dato’ Aedy Fadly bin Ramli. According to him, this initiative has been introduced to provide a faster, safer, and more practical method of payment. He also added that it aligns with the current lifestyle of Malaysians.

According to Paultan.org, JPJ Kuala Lumpur conducted a pilot project to introduce cashless payments, which received positive feedback. Following its success, the initiative has been rolled out nationwide in phases, involving the activation of 1,183 electronic data capture (EDC) terminal units and the M-Device application across all JPJ counters.
From February to March 2025, JPJ also held a series of intensive training sessions for counter officers to ensure a thorough understanding of acceptance procedures, MySikap system reporting, and transaction reviews. In a statement, JPJ revealed that as of 24 August 2025, it had collected RM5.6 billion through 46.5 million cashless transactions made via counters and the MyJPJ application. Of this amount, RM16.6 million came from 245,626 e-wallet transactions.
JPJ also believes that this implementation will lead to an increase in the number of cashless transactions at all counters. It stated that the project will minimise dependency on cash, reduce financial security risks, and support the government’s efforts to create a cashless working environment.
