Chinese brand Ayaneo, which is known for making gaming handhelds, has recently opened pre-orders for the Pocket DS. As the name suggests, the device is designed to replicate the design and functionality of the Nintendo DS. According to the company, the Pocket DS is the “world’s first dual screen Android handheld”.
Specs-wise, the Pocket DS sports a 7-inch 1,080p 165Hz OLED main screen paired with a 5-inch LCD secondary display. Aside from that, it sports a pair of anti-drift TMR joysticks, as well as Hall effect triggers with sensitivity adjustments. Other features include gyroscopic controls and a power button with a fingerprint scanner.
For internals, it is equipped with a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Powering the handheld is an 8,000mAh battery with support for PD fast charging. While the company did not list its battery life, the device’s product page lists a variety of performance modes.

Those interested in acquiring the Ayaneo Pocket DS can head over to its Indiegogo page. Pricing starts at RM2,206 for the base 8GB+128GB version, although there currently is a discounted price of RM1,696 for early backers. The handheld is expected to start shipping in October 2025.
