Xiaomi has officially launched the base variant of the POCO M7 series in Malaysia today, close to five months after the Pro model was introduced. It should be noted this new phone is a different model than the one launched in India back in March, complete with a different design as well as specifications.
On the back of this version of the POCO M7 is a vertical camera array featuring a single 50MP primary sensor, accompanied by a second, undisclosed unit (likely a depth sensor). The phone comes in Black, Blue, and Silver, with the latter two sporting a tiling pattern on the rear panel, while the Silver adds orange and blue accents.

In front, the phone offers a large 6.9-inch DotDisplay with 2340 x 1080px resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, up to 288Hz touch sampling, 850 nits peak brightness, and an 8MP selfie camera housed within a punch-hole cutout on top. Other notable features include IP64 water and dust protection, Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos supported speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood of the POCO M7 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G chipset, along with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD). Meanwhile, powering the phone is a large 7,000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. On that note, Xiaomi confirms that a compatible 33W charger is included together with the phone.
The phone supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and supports NFC. Additionally, it runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0, which is based on Android 15.

The new POCO M7 is now available via Xiaomi Malaysia’s website, as well as official POCO stores on Shopee and Lazada. As part of an ongoing early bird promotion, it is currently priced at RM469 for the 6GB + 128GB trim and RM559 for the 8GB + 256GB. Outside of this, the phone will retail at RM499 and RM599 respectively.
