Earlier today, HSBC launched its self-named Premier program, aimed at affluent and high net worth customers. The new service is basically divided into four pillars: Wealth, Health, Travel, and International.
“As the Malaysian economy grows, so does the opportunity to build and sustain wealth. In fact, we estimate that the percentage of adults in Malaysia with at least US$250,000 in financial wealth will double over the course of this decade. But it’s not just about growth. It’s about how wealth management is changing, and we’re seeing customers manage their wealth with more intent,” Kai Zhang, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking Asia, HSBC said at the event.
The Travel pillar is perhaps more relevant in this case. Effectively immediately, HSBC is enhancing the benefits on its travel cards for both Premier and Premier Elite customers.
For HSBC Premier card holders and more specifically, Premier World Mastercard holders, they will now be able to enjoy 15X Reward Points for every RM1 spent abroad, subject to the bank’s eligibility criteria. Additional benefits include 6x complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounges and up US$500,000 (~RM2.1 million) complimentary travel insurance and global data roaming from Mastercard, provided you pay for your travels using the card.
For the Premier Elite card holders, they not only get a redesigned Travel Card, it is also a zero-fee credit card that will also earn 1.1x air miles for every RM1 spent overseas, and 1x for every RM4 spent locally. Further, they gain access to more than 12 different airport lounges, in over 1,300 airports around the world. Oh, and they can also redeem complimentary business class flight tickets to major cities in the world, including but not limited to London, Melbourne, and Sydney.
In addition to the launch of an “enhanced” Premier program, first-time customers who sign up for HSBC’s Premier or Premier Elite program can earn up to 4.28% p.a, on their six-months Time/Term Deposit/-i, and up to 10.88% p.a. for their investments on their Time/Term Deposit/-i placements.
