It’s official. vivo has pulled back the veil from the X Fold5, officially launching it in the Malaysian market. The phone, which launched in China initially, received SIRIM certification in May this year.

Running through the specs quickly, the X Fold5 sports a 8.03-inch 2,480 x 2,200 inner screen and a 6.53-inch 2,748 x 1,172 outer screen, both with a 120Hz refresh rate. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the only model landing on our shores is the 16GB+512GB configuration. Powering the phone is a massive 6,000mAh battery, with support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

Around the back, the X Fold5 boasts a triple main camera module, all of which are 50MP ZEISS shooters – one main, one ultrawide, and a periscope lens. The camera also features a 100X Hyperzoom function. For the selfie cameras, both shooters on the cover and internal display are 20MP.

Software-wise, the X Fold5 supports an array of AI-powered features, including Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, Snap Text, AI Screen Translation, and of course, Google Gemini integration.

The phone will retail at an SRP of RM6,999 and will be available for preorder starting today via vivo’s official product page. In conjunction with the launch, the brand is also offering free gifts worth up to RM3,196.

Starting 2 August to 1 September, customers who preorder the X Fold5 will receive a 1+1 year vivo care extended warranty, a 1-year vivo care+ foldable screen protection warranty, a magnetic gift set and TWS 3e, and a PWP discount of 30% for its Watch GT, while stocks last.
