Chinese brand AKASO today has officially launched its first 360-degree camera in Malaysia, aptly named the AKASO 360. Like its other products, which comprises a wide variety of action cameras, the new device promises to provide high-end imaging at affordable price ranges.
The AKASO 360 itself offers a familiar form factor, featuring a rectangular body with two 180-degree cameras on its front and back. On one side is a 2.29-inch vertical touchscreen, along with a power button on the right, a Micro SD card slot on the left, and a tripod mount at the bottom. The action camera as a whole is claimed to feature “all-weather proof”, though AKSASO did not specifically mention an IP rating.
Under the hood, behind each 180-degree lens on the camera is a 48MP sensor, allowing for 360-degree recordings and stills at 5.7K resolution (30fps) and 72MP respectively. Also onboard are two microphones for stereo audio recording. Additionally, the AKASO 360 uses a proprietary replaceable battery with a capacity of 1,350mAh, which offers up to 60 minutes of runtime on a single charge.
Apart from 360-degree video and photo capture, other notable onboard features include software-based stabilisation, horizon levelling, AI subject tracking, and invisible selfie stick capability. Additional functionalities are also available via the AKASO 360 app that’s available on mobile and desktop, offering a variety of editing and post processing tools such as Stats Dashboard, Smart Clip, and many others.
The AKASO 360 is available now in two bundles: Standard and Creator. The former is available exclusively via the brand’s online stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok for RM899, whereas the latter is priced at RM1,099 and comes with three batteries as well as a selfie stick.
