Tecno today has announced via social media that its recently unveiled Pova 7 4G smartphone now starts from RM599. This is much lower than the initial RM1,199 price point which the company listed on its official Shopee store earlier this week.
Following the announcement, the Shopee listing has since been updated to reflect the new pricing. In response to our query, Tecno clarified that the current prices for both configurations of the Pova 7 4G are final, indicating that these are not part of a limited-time launch promotion. While the sudden price change may cause some confusion, this isn’t the first time a brand has positioned a device as being “cheaper” after an initial listing at a higher price point.

Anyway, here’s a quick recap for the new Pova 7 4G. The phone is the entry-level model from Tecno’s Pova 7 series, which also comprises a 5G variant, a Pro and an Ultra. It features a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 900 nits. The device also includes stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP64 rating for resistance against dust and water splashes. However, unlike other variants in the series, this base model lacks the Delta Light Interface on its back panel.
Internally, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset (4G-only), paired with 8GB of RAM (marketed as 16GB thanks to its virtual memory expansion capability) and offers up to 256GB of storage. Powering the phone is a large 7,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, while its software is handled by Tecno’s HiOS 15 based on Android 15. For photography, the Pova 7 4G comes equipped with a 108MP main camera and a 2MP macro sensor on the rear, while the front houses an 8MP selfie camera within a punch-hole cutout.

As mentioned earlier, the 8GB + 128GB configuration now retails at RM599 (or RM582 after certain discounts), while the 8GB + 256GB is currently priced at RM711. Colour options include Hyper Titanium, Silver, and Geek Black.
