Ford released official images of the Bronco ahead of its launch. The mid-size SUV is offered in EV and Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) variants. These models will be manufactured in China through the Jiangling Motors (JMC)-Ford joint venture.
However, there was not much information other than the pictures, but thanks to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), some specifications of the car were revealed.

Before we go further into that, design-wise, the SUV has many similarities to its ICE twin. It features slimmer LED DRLs with a squared “C” shape compared to the rounder halo-style on the ICE variant. It also has a closed grille and a more boxy and rugged-looking silhouette. At the rear, it has vertically shaped taillights and roof rails.
There is no information on the interior, but in terms of performance, both variants come with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The EV is powered by a 130 kW motor at the front and a 202 kW motor at the rear. Together, they produce 232 kW and enable a top speed of 170 km/h. It has a 105.4kWh LFP ‘Blade’ technology battery pack that is sourced from BYD. This battery is claimed to provide a CLTC range of 650 km.

The EREV variant also has two motors; however, it features a smaller 180 kW motor at the rear. Additionally, it comes with a 1.5-litre engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery or provide power to the motors. Speaking of the battery, this variant of the Bronco has a 43.7 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 220 km. Combined with the engine, it is claimed to have a CLTC range of 1,220 km.
As of now, these are the only details available about the Ford Bronco EV and EREV. However, we can expect more information during the launch. On the other hand, there are reports of the possibility of the Bronco debuting in Malaysia, and if that is the case, these are some of the specs that we can expect from the automaker.
