In conjunction with the launch of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5050 GPU for both desktop and laptops, ASUS announced a laundry list of gaming laptops, fitted with the new entry-level GPU. These new laptops include modesl from the ROG Strix G16 lineup, the TUF Gaming lineup, and the Gaming V16.
For starters, all the models share nearly identical specifications, with the one common unifying factor being that they are all powered by the RTX 5050. To that end, they all share the same 16-inch FHD+ 16:10 display, as well as the same amount of RAM, which is 16GB DDR5. What sets them apart are their CPUs and internal storage capacity.
To that end, the ROG Strix G16 comes in two CPU flavours: AMD and Intel. Specifically, the AMD variant runs on the older Ryzen 9 8940HX, while the Intel model runs on a Core i5-13450HX. Oh, and both SKUs ship out with 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage.
Moving down the line, the TUF Gaming laptops are also available in AMD and Intel flavours, with the Gaming A16 rocking the Ryzen 7 260, and the Gaming F16 running on the Core i5-13450HX. Both come with 512GB of PCIe 4.0 storage, and once again, both run with the RTX 5050 as their defacto discrete GPU.
At the bottom of the list, the Gaming V16 is about as entry-level as ASUS gaming laptops get. The laptop comes with a Core 5 210H CPU, and features 512GB of storage.
Pricing for the new ASUS RTX 5050 gaming laptops starts at RM4,799 for the Gaming V16, RM5,799 for the TUF F16, RM5,999 for the TUF A16, RM6,599 for the Intel-based Strix G16, and RM6,999 for the Ryzen-based G16. All models are immediately available.
