Alongside the new MatePad Pro 12.2 2025, Huawei Malaysia also launched the new FreeBuds 6 open-fit wireless earbuds. It brings notable improvements over its predecessor, from featuring a new design and ergonomics to upgraded audio and smart call features.
The Huawei FreeBuds 6 adopts a droplet-inspired design with a stem that is 12% smaller than the previous generation and a lightweight build at just 4.9g per bud. According to the company, the aerodynamic shape is tailored for comfort across a wide range of ear shapes and integrates a UHF Planar Diaphragm Driver into the shell. The new earbuds are available in three colour options: Purple, White, and Black.
Under the hood, the FreeBuds 6 features a dual-driver setup comprising an upgraded 11mm dual-magnetic driver and Huawei’s Bass Turbo 2.0 technology. It supports high-resolution audio playback up to 48 kHz/24-bit via Huawei’s proprietary L2HC 4.0 codec when used with a compatible Huawei device (such as the Mate X6), enabling lossless audio transmission up to 2.3 Mbps.
For voice calls, the buds offers two-way noise cancellation even in high-noise conditions up to 95 dB and supports wind noise suppression up to 8m/s, ensuring clear call quality in busy environments such as airports or outdoor settings. Meanwhile, battery life is touted to offer up to 36 hours of music playback with the charging case. Huawei adds that a five-minute quick charge yields 2.5 hours of playback.
Additionally, the FreeBuds 6 brings cross-platform support which enables seamless switching between Android, iOS and HarmonyOS devices, whereas dual-device connection lets users switch automatically between a phone and a PC depending on the activity. It also features intelligent head gesture controls, allowing users to answer or reject calls with a nod or shake of the head.
The FreeBuds 6 will be available in Malaysia starting 24 June 2025 at RM699. Huawei adds that customers will also receive complimentary gifts worth RM327 with every purchase, available through its official Experience Stores, its website, as well as authorised channels on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
