For those who have been waiting for Apple to refresh its Watch Ultra lineup, the next iteration of the wearable might just be on the horizon. Analyst Jeff Pu of GF Securities Hong Kong has claimed that the company will be releasing the Apple Watch Ultra 3 later this year.
A product roadmap shared with investors showed that the Watch Ultra 3 is expected to launch this year, along with the Apple Watch Series 11. The smartwatches will probably be announced sometime in autumn, which is when the tech giant is expected to unveil the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup.
The new iteration of the Watch Ultra might come with features like 5G capabilities and satellite connectivity, with the latter allowing users to send messages without the need to rely on a cellular or WiFi connection. It could be argued that these additions justify the long wait, but it has been roughly two years since the launch of the Watch Ultra 2. In 2024, a black titanium colourway was introduced for the wearable as the only update to the lineup.
The roadmap Pu shared also includes some interesting details, like the mention of a 6-inch “HomePad” expected to be announced this year, which is likely the company’s smart home hub. Additionally, Pu anticipates a watch featuring a blood monitoring feature to be launched in 2027. This is probably the blood pressure monitoring tool that has been the subject of rumours over the years, which does mean that the Watch Ultra 3 won’t be getting it.

Another noteworthy detail in Pu’s roadmap is his prediction for the release of the AirPods Pro 3. Apparently, the earbuds will be released in 2026, and not this coming September. This contradicts with some rumours surrounding the buds, but it does line up with what analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted last month.
