A slide detailing Intel’s upcoming “Bartlett Lake” desktop CPU has leaked. The processor will allegedly be called Core 5 120F, and it is expected to be the chipmaker’s budget-oriented, “no frills, just thrills” CPU for gaming.

According to the leak by momomo_us, the 120F is expected to have six P-Cores, a turbo frequency of 4.5GHz, and no E-Cores to speak of. Additionally, it should have an L3 Cache of 18MB and will support up to 192GB of DDR5-4800 RAM.

Interestingly enough, the 120F and perhaps, the entire Bartlett Lake lineup, will the return of hyperthreading. As a quick primer, Intel removed the feature with the launch of the current Arrow Lake lineup, also known as 15th Gen. It was also removed with the Lunar Lake laptop processor, by the by.

As per the Intel slide, the 120F is primarily designed for Esports, as well as AAA games in Full HD. Technically speaking, while it wouldn’t be able to go head-to-head with AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Intel is aiming for it to go up against the Ryzen 5 5600X, which is widely considered to be the mainstream processor of choice, with a good price-to-performance and performance-to-watt ratios.

At the time of writing, there’s still no official pricing for the Intel Core 5 120F, but speculation suggests that the chipmaker may sell it between US$100 (~RM425 and US$150 (~RM636), just as it did with the Core 15-12400F that debuted in 2022.
