Razer has added itself into the custom keyboard market with the introduction of the BlackWidow V4 75% back in 2023. But while it did come with switches that you can hotswap out, it’s not exactly the best deal for those who already have their own switches either in storage or on the way via courier. Maybe it’s with that in mind that the company has announced a Barebones version of the keyboard, that comes without any key caps or switches. Oh, you also lose the bundled-in wrist rest as well.
Beyond being, well, barebones, the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% is exactly the same as the fully assembled variant. It doesn’t even get its own page on the brand’s website, instead having a section piggybacking off of the standard model. Which is to say that it’s still compatible with three- or five-pin switches, factory lubricated stabilisers and accommodating additional screw-in stabilisers, plus two layers of foam. So it’s still pretty feature rich despite the name.

Other tech includes the usual Chroma RGB lighting, 8kHz polling rate, N-key rollover and anti ghosting, all gaming keyboard staples. Not necessarily gaming related but still welcome are the two media switches and roller on the top right corner.
By removing all of the key caps and switches, the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones drops its price down to RM669 from the usual RM939. The model in white comes with a RM40 premium, which is strange as the fully assembled version is RM40 cheaper if you chose white paint instead, though this may be the 10% discount listed for said specific version.
