Huawei has announced the upcoming Malaysian launch of its 2025 refresh of the MatePad Pro 12.2. Aside from the upgraded primary sensor with a new camera bump design, it seems to be nearly identical to its predecessor in terms of specs.
Just like last year, the 2025 edition of the MatePad Pro 12.2 sports a 12.2-inch 2800×1840 tandem OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz as well as a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for HDR content — the peak global brightness is undisclosed but for reference, the 2024 model’s was 1,000 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin T92A SoC, one of the rare times the brand has revealed the chipset used for its devices, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The rear imaging side is where we see the biggest differentiating factor, as it features a larger 50MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front shooter has actually been downgraded to an 8MP snapper. For power, it retains the 10,100mAh cell with support for 100W charging. On the connectivity side, it supports Bluetooth 5.2 and an upgrade to Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.
The MatePad Pro 12.2 2025 is set to arrive in Malaysia on 18 June 2025 in a single Wi-Fi variant. Pre-orders are open from now until 17 June and with a RM50 deposit, you can get a RM100 voucher along with an M-Pencil, a mouse, a backpack, a Bluetooth speaker, and WPS Office Suite.
