The electric vehicle trend is gaining momentum, and two-wheelers are no exception. At the ongoing Malaysia Auto Show (MAS 2025), Modenas has unveiled its latest electric scooters (e-bikes), the MEV-1 Pro and MEV-2. Both models are now available for purchase, priced at RM13,470 and RM9,878 respectively. The MEV-1 Pro is offered in two variants – single-seater and two-seater – while the MEV-2 is available exclusively as a single-seater.

In terms of design, there is not much difference between the two models, except for the LED lights. On the MEV-1 Pro, the front LED headlight is integrated just below the front cowl and housed in a black casing, while on the MEV-2, it is embedded into the front fairing with a distinctive trapezoidal shape. At the rear, both bikes also feature LED lights that follow the same design language as their respective front-end styling.

With a telescopic fork and a single shock absorber in the back, the two e-bikes have wheels that are 16 inches in front and 14 inches at the back. A USB charging connector, an LCD instrument panel, and LED lighting are among the riding amenities. Furthermore, the MEV-1 Pro weighs 145 kg, while the MEV-2 is 110 kg.

The MEV-1 Pro has better performance, with a maximum power output of 6.6 horsepower, 258 Nm of torque, and a range of 135 km at 85 km/h. It takes 3.5 hours for each of the twin ATL lithium 60 V 45 Ah battery packs to fully charge. The MEV-2, on the other hand, has a 5.4 hp electric motor that can go 70 km at its maximum speed of 80 km/h. With a 74 V 30 Ah rating, a dual ATL lithium battery pack requires 3.5 hours to fully charge.
