Thailand Digital Arrival Card Replacing TM 6 Forms For Visitors

Starting 1 May, Malaysians planning to visit Thailand have to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at least three days before their due arrival date. This was advised by the Malaysian Embassy in Thailand, due to the TM 6 immigration form being replaced by the TDAC.

Bong Yik Jui, the chargé d’Affaires ad interim of Malaysia to Thailand, stated that the TDAC system will begin accepting submissions starting 28 April. Therefore, tourists who will be arriving on its launch date will still be accommodated.

“Travellers are reminded that the TDAC must be submitted three days in advance of their arrival in Thailand, including the date of arrival. For example, those arriving on 5 May can begin submitting their TDAC on 2 May”, said Bong to Bernama. He also says that Malaysian tourists should submit their TDAC through the official Immigration Bureau website at http://tdac.immigration.go.th/.

In the event some difficulties arise, Bong has reassured that assistance would be provided at points of entry. “Travellers who are unable to complete the TDAC before arrival or lack internet access at immigration checkpoints will be assisted at designated help points,” he stated.

The TDAC system was apparently developed to smoothen entry procedures with modern, secure, and efficient smart travel technology. In comparison, the TM 6 immigration form which was previously used was a physical form that could only be obtained inside the plane on all international flights to Thailand.
