Instagram has launched a new feature called “Blend”, which allows the user to create custom, personalised reels feed. This feature is geared to introduce another social element to Instagram, which marks a return to the app’s focus on connecting with friends, rather than highlighting influencer content and advertisements.
To use Blend, the user needs to open a one-on-one or group DM and tap the new Blend icon, which is located in the top right corner of the chat. Here, the user can choose to invite chat members to use the feed, which will be made available once at least one member accepts the invite. The user can also revisit the Blend after its creation by tapping on the Blend icon in the DM.

The feature essentially serves as a way for users to explore the kinds of reels their friends enjoy, allowing them to connect and discover new content together. As Instagram users already send reels to each other, the addition of this feature seems to make this form of interaction more convenient.
Blend is currently being rolled out in select countries, as stated by Instagram. However, it did not specify which countries will be receiving the feature. For now, it is uncertain whether Malaysian users will be able to make custom reels feeds with friends.
