xAI started rolling out the standalone app for its AI chatbot Grok on iOS earlier in the year. It looks like Android has gotten its turn, and more specifically, Android users in Malaysia are now able to download the app onto their devices.
It’s one more out of many ways to get access to Grok. Previously, it was made available for those who paid for X Premium Plus, then free users got access for a time. Then it was announced that those who paid for Telegram Premium also got access to the AI chatbot.
But going back to the Android app though, naturally free users get limited functionality, and to get the full access, you need to pay for SuperGrok. Amanz reports that this costs RM144.99 a month, which is quite a bit higher than its iOS counterpart, which is charging RM129.90 a month according to the Apple App Store listing.
One advantage of Grok that’s being advertised here is the ability to pull real-time data from X, which is fitting as both it and xAI are owned by the letter-obsessed Elon Musk. Though if that’s something that appeals to you, using the AI chatbot directly from the social media platform would probably make more sense, unless you’re doing a lot of other querying simultaneously.
