Insta360 has introduced a new bundle for its Ace Pro 2 action camera, which aims to “transform the 8K AI-powered action camera into the ultimate tool for street photography and urban travel”. The highlight of this bundle is the Xplorer Grip Kit designed by Tilta, which is also available as a standalone accessory for existing owners of the action cam.
The new grip accessory features a sturdy metal frame that wraps around the Ace Pro 2, adding three additional mounting points for external accessories. The Xplorer Grio Kit also improves ergonomics with a robust front handle, making the camera easier to hold and operate. Additionally, it includes a secure wrist strap to reduce the risk of accidental drops, a red-accented cold shoe cap, and an “old-school” shutter release button.
In case you missed our previous coverage, here’s a quick recap of the Insta360 Ace Pro 2: The action camera features a Leica lens and a new 50MP 1/1.3” sensor with a 157° wide viewing angle. It supports 8K/30FPS and 4K/60FPS recording with HDR, offering improved dynamic range and low-light performance. Also onboard are Gesture & Voice Control, Auto Edit, and an AI Highlights Assistant.
The Ace Pro 2 is waterproof up to 12 metres (or 60 metres with accessories) and operates in temperatures from -20°C to 45°C. It is equipped with an 1,800mAh battery, delivering up to 180 minutes of usage and fast charging to 80% in 18 minutes.
The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 Xplorer Bundle and the standalone Xplorer Grip Kit are not yet available for the local market. For reference, the bundle is priced at US$460 (~RM2,039) in the US, while the grip kit alone costs US$85 (~RM376). Meanwhile, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 in Malaysia starts at RM1,899 for the Standard Bundle and RM1,999 for the Dual Battery Bundle.
