HP recently brought its Omen 16 Slim and Transcend 14 laptops in line by having them fitted with the latest Intel Core Ultra 200H series CPUs and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series.
Starting with the HP Omen 16 Slim, the laptop shows off a new and slimmer form factor than its predecessor, and packs up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 295H Arrow lake mobile CPU, and up to an NVIDIA RTX 5070 laptop GPU. The display is a 16-inch IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms GTG response time.
Memory and storage start at 512GB and 16GB DDR5, respectively. For ports, you’re looking at a 10Gbps USB-C for DisplayPort and PD, one 10Gbps USB-A, two 5GB USB-A ports, the basic LAN port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, and a HDMI 2.1 port. Oh, and only Wi-Fi 6E support, not Wi-Fi 7.
Moving on, the HP Omen Transcend 14 is basically the same pint-sized powerhouse of the original, save for the fact that it is packing the same gear as the 16 Slim. At least, that’s what HP is claiming: you’re getting up to the same Core Ultra 9 285H CPU and up to an RTX 5070 laptop GPU, plus the same starting memory and storage configuration.
And while the company hasn’t been generous with the specifics, the display could still be the same 14-inch 16:10 2.8K OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.
