WhatsApp is planning on testing threaded message replies, a feature that has apparently been much requested. While currently under development, it should make its way to one-to-one chats, group chats, communities, and channels once released.
With this feature, users will be able to read replies within a thread without having to scroll through the chat, as all of the replies will be directly under the original text. The thread view will be accessible by tapping on a reply.

This upcoming feature will make it easier to track conversations and discussions, especially in group chats, as it will all be in an organised thread. It will help eliminate confusion during busy conversations, improve the structure of chats, and smoothen the overall usage of WhatsApp.
One thing to note though is that WABetaInfo reports that while the feature is found within the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.7.7, it’s not actually usable even for beta testers of said version. It will be awhile before it rolls out to general users, if it even makes it that far.
