Tecno recently unveiled its new Camon 40 series at MWC and now, at least one model, namely the Camon 40 Pro, is coming to Malaysia. While we expected the phone to eventually arrive here due to its SIRIM listing, the company has yet to make any official announcements, but ahead of a launch date, a couple of local retailers have already listed the phone for pre-orders.
According to the retailers, the Camon 40 Pro 4G will retail at RM849 in a single 8GB+256GB variant, although it is unknown if the brand will offer other configurations at launch. The retailers also state that the phone will go on sale starting 21 March 2025. While the 4G mid-ranger will likely be released next week, there is still no no sighting of the 5G version, although an earlier report claims that the latter will also be making its way to our shores this month.
The Camon 40 Pro sports a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with curved sides and a 120Hz refresh rate, while for protection, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. Inside, the mid-ranger runs on a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset with support for 4G, unspecified versions of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and NFC.

On the optics front, the Pro features a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus. Powering it is a 5,200mAh battery with support for 45W charging. Additionally, it gets an under-display fingerprint scanner for security.
