Prasarana Malaysia announced that Rapid KL will be expending its operating hours on 31 December to accommodate the New Year’s Eve celebrations. This means that the rail services will be running until 3AM of 1 January 2025, while certain bus routes will be running until 3:30AM.

Worth noting though that while the Rapid KL rail services will be running for longer than usual, only certain stations will be open for the public to board from past normal operating hours. These will include interchange stations, but every other station will be closed as they usually do, and you’ll only be able to exit those stations.

Bernama quotes a Prasarana statement which says that the extended hours will involve 18 rail stations, four Rapid Transit bus stations, and 20 key Rapid KL bus and feeder routes. Beyond that, the company also says that all rail lines will be getting increased train frequency starting 7:30PM of 31 December.

On its social media channels, Rapid KL reminds female passengers to board the women-only coach for comfort and safety. Speaking of which, the company also announced that the implementation of the women’s coach on the Ampang / Sri Petaling line will begin on 31 December, coinciding with the extended hours of the night.
