CIMB has announced the next phase of features that will be disabled on the Clicks app. This is part of the bank’s process to sunset the banking app in favour of the newer OCTO app, giving its users ample time to migrate since it officially announced the move back in June.

Starting December 2024, the Clicks app will no longer support fund transfers, whether it be transferring to your own account or through DuitNow and IBG. Moreover, the will get rid of support for JomPay and Pay Bill, along with the ability to pay for loans and cards.

The bank had previously disabled the ability to pay through DuitNow QR, while the function to pay bills was supposed to be cut in October before it decided to delay the discontinuation of these features to December. Moreover, the app no longer supports foreign transfer services such as SpeedSend and Foreign Telegraphic Transfer, topping up prepaid numbers, or e-Fixed Deposit placements and withdrawals.

With virtually all major functions being disabled by next month, CIMB users are encouraged to switch to the OCTO app. Launched in 2022, the more advanced app offers all the familiar features of Clicks and more.
