The e-hailing scene in Malaysia appears to be growing even more. Apart from newcomer Bolt, another player has entered the fray – this time, it’s none other than Lalamove, the mobile app and platform known for its e-courier services.

Revealed via the platform’s social media channels is its all-new Lalamove Ride service, which now enables users in Malaysia to book a ride directly through the existing Lalamove app. To access it, select the new “Ride” tab from the home screen, enter your point of origin and the location that you wish to travel to, and then select the vehicle type that you wish to ride in. However, regarding the latter, it looks like the platform is only offering Sedan type cars at this time.

Like Lalamove’s e-courier service, payments can be done either through the in-app Wallet or by cash. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll be able to track your ride in real time. And just so you know, the rates for Lalamove Ride appear to match those offered by its competitors, though expect the pricing to fluctuate based on time and location.

For now, Lalamove’s new e-hailing service is limited to the Klang Valley region. Those interested can check out Lalamove Ride through the platform’s mobile app that’s available on both iOS and Android, but do remember to update it to the latest available version first.
