OPPO is set to introduce another entry-level smartphone called the A3x, which was unveiled in India earlier this week. However, the phone seems to have a different chipset compared to its Indian counterpart, opting for a Qualcomm processor instead of one from MediaTek.
The A3x, while not officially launched here yet, has already been listed by several retailers with a starting price of RM399 for the 4GB+64GB variant, while the 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB configurations retail at RM499 and RM599 respectively. Moreover, the brand’s store in Ocean Mall confirmed these prices with us.
As for the specs, the A3x gets a 6.67-inch 720p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate instead of the 120Hz found in the Indian version, as well as a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chip. The phone comes with IP54 and MIL-STD 810H ratings for dust, water, and shock resistance.

Imaging-wise, the budget device is equipped with an 8MP camera alongside a flicker sensor on the back, while the front houses a 5MP selfie snapper. Powering it is a 5,100mAh battery with support for 45W charging. On the connectivity side, it supports 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
[UPDATE: 12:36 PM, 16 August 2024] The brand has officially launched the A3x, but only the two 128GB variants are currently up for sale, while the 64GB model is listed as “coming soon”.
