MSI Malaysia announced that its gaming handheld console, the CLAW, will go up for preorder starting 9 March until 21 March 2024. The brand will be bringing in two SKUs, and pricing starts at RM3,499 and tops out at RM3,999.
Breaking it down, the CLAW SKU that retails at RM3,499 comes with an Intel Core Ultra 5 135H CPU, while the SKU that retails at RM3,999 is fitted with a Core Ultra 7 155H. The latter being the same CPU that you’ll find in current laptops such as the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED 2024 that we reviewed recently.
Apart from the different in CPU, the CLAW comes with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, depending on the model; Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4 port, a 53WHr battery and 65W PD charger, Hall Effect joysticks and triggers in the Xbox controller layout, and Windows 11. Oh, and the 7-inch FHD touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
In conjunction with the preorder, MSI will reward those who preorder the CLAW during the special period with an exclusive accessory bundle worth RM499, while stocks last. Oddly enough, when we asked for its specific launch date, the company wasn’t prepared to let us in on the details but did say that we could expect it to be available at the end of next month.
